Idea Circle Dinner Discussion #7:
Nobody cares about your analysis…
… and other reasons why well-intentioned science communication often falls flat
Abstract:
Particle physics has captured the imagination of filmmakers, science fiction writers and creative thinkers for decades. And yet communication about actual scientific research at CERN can often come across as pedantic and dull. In ICDD#7 Sarah Charley from Symmetry Magazine and US-CERN communications will share some ideas about how scientists can bring back the spark into conversations about physics with their friends, family and other persons outside the field.
About the speaker:
Sarah Charley:
Sarah Charley is the US-CERN communications officer based in the CERN Press Office and a staff writer for Symmetry Magazine.
