Discussion:

  • Agreed to insert the BPM offset wrt the smooth curve before beam commissioning in the BPM FESA class (Action for OP)
  • How to calculate the smooth curve?
    • The smooth curve should only account for Bending and Quads, i.e. no DIS or SMV
    • Pierre will do some tests to see if the fit with the software "rabot' can be improved wrt the previously shown plots. On the other hand, one should prefer a smooth curve instead of passing through all the elements.
    • If the fit is not improved, the one shown would be good enough. Pierre should provide the offset wrt the smooth curve.
    • GP will perform a fit independently and cross-check the numbers.
    • Pierre said that for calculating the offset and insert them in GEODE, he must use the 'Alesage' information and not the 'Faisceau'. This means that in case of large roll angle there will be a difference. Pierre said this could affect the PSB results, not the BI line.
      • Pierre will evaluate the offsets both at the beam and alesage level for the BPMs in the PSB rings and we could judge if it is fine.
  • The BPM offsets in the BI line should be calculated by the beginning of next week (Action for Pierre).
  • The BPM offsets in the PSB should be available by the end of the next week (Action for Pierre).
