Ilias:
- worked on Caribou slides and poster for EP R&D day tomorrow.
- Continued to work on the documentation.
Abraham:
- also worked on poster.
- tried to implement asynchronous pseudo-random hit generator for delay-line input for one-channel TDC. Still in progress.
Changbum (slides):
- preparing hardware design for Caribou v2
- Evaluating Mercury XU1 for Caribou v2. Got Vivado tcl scripts for making FPGA configuration (Vivado project) with default specs from manufacturer.
- Pin i/o planning for v1.5 interfacing board.
- Eric: have existing Peta-linux setup for Mercury design. Vivado version and Peta-linux version provided by manufacturer was old, had to update to newer version.
Eric:
- Some trivial issues with last remaining tests for the test board. Tests therefore not yet finished.
- Working on updating test board schematics (removing parts not needed for v2). This will be the starting point for v2 schematics.
Tomas:
- Colleague from Prague was at DESY last week, but did not get far with using Caribou on Enclustra board. Python API missing some features.
- Working on Caribou for ALPIDE telescope.
- Will have master student who would like to do SoC. Will do thesis on Caribou, e.g. implementing something for telescope. Or generic Caribou work (DMA to increase data throughput from FPGA to data-processing system). Ilias has already implemented DMA in Peary (using the simple "AXI DMA" IP from AMD) and is working on the documentation.
- Issue reported by IPHC for SPARC testing. Workaround is to provide external load for AVDD. Replaced one of capacitors with 27 Ohm resistors in the design. PCBs are in production (ETA mid May), assembly will then be done at DESY. Younes made firmware for SPARC. Tomas will check it out.
