Industry day planning

Main decisions:

• hold two full day events
• one in April/May 2027 (hardware, sensors, readout, control systems), another in Autumn 2027 (AI/data handling)
• Use Forskningsparken if funding allows

 

Suggested format:

• presentations from them
• (relevant & well prepared) presentations from us
• allow plenty of time for round-table discussions (maybe after lunch?)
• Tour of SINTEF facilities?

 

Key considerations:

• Need to clearly define goals: setting up meaningful collaboration, or just a publicity exercise (we prefer the former...)
• Presentations need to be clearly thought through to ensure relevance
• For AI/data, focus on strengths of our field, e.g. tailored physics-based AI rather than LLMs which we don't have much experience with
• Question: how much should CERN be involved?

 

Timeline:

• Need at least 1 month to prepare and 3 months for invitations
• Ole-Petter will gauge interest at a meeting in Brussels next week
• At NorCC steering committee on 27th: present plan and find out who wants to participate
• Need to start planning well before Christmas
