UHF Workshop Secretariat

The workshop on High Field Dipoles, organised within the EU MuCol study and the International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC), aims to strengthen the technical basis for the high-field dipole design for the Muon Collider and identify priorities for coordinated development.

The workshop will review the requirements arising from the Muon Collider lattice and accelerator design, the status of collider and accelerator dipole concepts, and relevant developments in companion programmes. It is co-organised with the High Field Magnets (HFM) R&D programme to promote exchange and identify synergies.

Topics will include:

  • Muon Collider requirements and the status of dipole designs;
  • relevant developments in high-field magnet programmes;
  • HTS conductors and winding technologies, including no-insulation (NI) windings;
  • magnet protection and associated technical challenges;
  • mechanical design, conductor properties and tape allowables;
  • field quality and related challenges in high-field HTS magnets.

The workshop will be held in hybrid format, with in-person and remote participation. Participation in person is strongly encouraged to facilitate technical exchange and discussion.
