Co-Chair Transition
Andy announced that he will need to step down as co-chair already already before the end of the term, i.e. mid 2026. The group discussed the transition of co-chairs for their working group, allowing now to implement a staggered approach. They agreed that having two co-chairs was beneficial, and supported the idea of rotating through EIROforum organizations. Please get in contact with Stefan and Andy if you want to act as WG co-convener.
Meeting with EIROforum Directors and Leadership Program Proposal Planning
Stefan presented the slides in the agenda to the EIROforum coordination group in view of the upcoming meeting with the directors in February. Concerning the proposed EIROforum Leadership Program the coordination group requested more detailed information about it in a dedicated document. The team discussed preparing a leadership program proposal for a meeting with directors in mid-February. The team agreed to create a Google document with initial thoughts on the program, to be completed by January 29th, after which Stefan will send it to the coordination group for distribution to the directors.
Training Programs Roundtable Discussion
Stefan proposed organizing a round table discussion on training activities in 2026, inviting each EIROforum organization to present their training programs and explore potential synergies. Eva expressed willingness to present at the meeting in February on behalf of EUROfusion. Tina suggested including training topics like onboarding, leadership, and diversity, together with a general overview. The group agreed to have one presentation per meeting, with each organization highlighting their most pressing training issues. The ESA presentation is scheduled for the March meeting.
Workshop Planning
The group discussed upcoming training sessions and workshops for the year. Eva proposed a workshop on creating online learning materials. They agreed to discuss the workshop further in February, including potential speakers and scheduling.

* Eva also shared information about an upcoming International Atomic Energy Agency meeting in Vienna on workforce development, which will take place at the end of April, with nominations due by February 2nd and abstracts by February 15th (see also dedicated email to our mailing list)
