Discussion points:
- Presentation slides cover the various elements of integration of FRAS CCC key (Safety PLC) and Beam Interlock system to the FRAS safety chain. Questions discussed:
- Slide 6: Main/block relay boxes have 2 interface points that need to be defined: input from CCR key and Status signals output to a device that can take Digital Inputs (DIs). Until now the assumption was this would be SAMBUCA. Following discussion it is agreed that the Safety PLCs that would have been used to transfer the CCR key status should also be used to send back to the CCR the various status signals.
- Slide 7: A question to verify is whether there will be one safety PLC per IP side or per IP. Verification of the cabling and fibre pulling requests will be needed.
- Slide 8: Jerome confirms he's used the CIBUS system in various installations and familiar with the required wiring.
- Slide 9: Borja asked: how will the "maskable" element of the Ring Beam Interlock System be implemented? Will this be a hardware or software mask? (open question, not resolved)
- Slide 9: Borja confirms top FEC interlock signal is a software signal that does not pass through the Beam Interlock System (BIS)
Actions:
- Jerome: check resources possibility for design and fabrication of the Safety PLC Boxes
- Roberto: verify the DIC and DIFs to confirm if one PLC will be per IP side or per IP
- Roberto: Prepare updated top level diagram based on the outcome of DIC/DIF and today's discussion.
- Brad/Borja: prepare updated definition of components for the safety PLCs (both in the CCR and those in the tunnel)
