Description

Is CERNBox part of your daily workflow, and would you like to better understand what happens behind the scenes? Or have you ever wondered what you should (and shouldn’t) do to avoid common pitfalls?

This session will explain how CERNBox works, highlight known quirks, and clarify the capabilities and limitations of the different access protocols (sync client, web, H: drive/SAMBA, etc.). We will also provide guidance on how to choose the most appropriate access method for your use case.

Finally, this will be the perfect opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and discuss feature requests directly with the CERNBox team.

Overview of the main points covered in the presentation:

  • CERNBox Service Overview
  • Quota, data safety
  • Documentation & support
  • Access methods: web, sync client, network drive
  • Spaces (projects)
  • Sharing
  • Applications in CERNBox
  • Conflicts
  • How to ask for help
  • DFS migration and differences between DFS and CERNBox
  • Dos/don’ts - Common issues and how to prevent/resolve them
  • Discussion – Q&A

Please let us know in advance if there are any specific topics you or your colleagues would like us to address.
We will be happy to incorporate them into the presentation.
