Draft:
Present: Gunn, Thomas, Volker, Svenja, ILK team (cryostat supplier), NTP team(ceramic supplier), anyone else ?
Discussion:
ILK presentation:
- Note that this meeting was dedicated for CRYRING CCC cryostat (between GSI and ILK), Gunn was invited from CERN as observer
- the discussion was all in german but slides by ILK (Gregor Trommler) were in english and mostly technical so it was possible to follow up
- Main focus was cryostat 3D model and design, checking details, dimentions etc.
- Beam pipe 100 mm, DN100CF flange, there is also adapter flange
Volker presentation:
- few slides showing the ferrite magnetic core (pick up coils) from Magnetec Hungary Ltd
- Volker said he has enough cores for 2 or 3 CCC to build ?
- The hungarian company is not interested in making such large cores anymore
- 1.25mm lead sheet
- Epoxy glass (G10) material used as enclosure + spacer
Svenja presentaton:
- Svenja (student from Leipzig/Jena) showed her work on active filtering of the noise in two squid readouts
- Amplitude and phase compared for two squids.
- Since one is inverted, the phase difference should be 180 degree, but in reality around 204 degree
- The pulse/peaks (time structure) pattern however is pretty similar in two squids
- Svenja explained the math and procedure for filtering the noise and then demo of the noise removal (e.g. 1.5 Hz He compressor beats)
Gunn questions to Thomas/Volker:
- what can CERN provide in terms of help/resources ?
- Thomas: having your FESA class GUI and radiation hardness study of Magnicon electronics will be of a great help
- Gunn: sure, FESA class we can provide, I will check with Stephane Bart Pederson and Mark.
- Gunn: Mark has initiated radiation hardness test and dosimetry in AD with R2E team, plus the R2E team is doing fluka simulations in SHiP beamlines
- For CERN a cryostat with additional port to fill LHe should be followed up in January in 2026 with ILK
- CERN side we still need to finalize HSE safety concerns for LHe dewar transport, electronics hardness and integration constraints ! (expected in Jan 2026)
