HI-ECN3 safety systems #2

Europe/Zurich
  • Service building:
    • Rough cost estimate for SUSI access system for BB85 available (20 kCHF)
    • Access system for CV room with options for a PAD (~200 kCHF) or a standard access door interlocked via an RP monitor (~50 kCHF). The latter is not compatible with a patrol/beam interlock. Action/Claudia to collect RP risks and organize a meeting with Boris, Jean-Louis, Melania and Francesco to launch a risk assessment and definition of access system requirements
  • TCC8 dismantling:
    • Several options for access control during TCC8 dismantling were investigated:
    1. Door w/ simple access control between TCC8/ECN3 + procedure (35 kCHF)
    2. Container access control (w/ turnstile) + procedure (19 kCHF)
      • Considered as best option. Action/Jean-Louis to do a formal request to Boris with specification of when the system shall be employed
      • Action/Boris to provide dimensions of container to Jean-Louis for layout integration
    3. Door w/ special key + procedure -> ruled out in view of emergency exit problems
  • Beam stoppers:
    • Boris investigated synergies with NA-CONS cable requests for obsolete EIS cabling of the T4-P42 XTAX element. Cables from beam stoppers to control system covered by Rui. Signal from all beam stoppers bundled and then sent to access system via 2 cables for redundancy. These 2 cables can be covered via the existing requests from NA-CONS
    • Total cost for required access system changes for the beam stoppers was estimated with 80 kCHF
  • New shaft:
    • Most probably not needed anymore by SHiP. Decision is expected during SCE milestones for IRP Design Study meeting on 27/03
    • Cost estimate for temporary access point is 15 kCHF
  • Fire detection:
    • Important to understand footprint of fire detection system (e.g. racks, LASD, etc.) in view of IRP Design study deadlines. Action/Boris to provide an estimate to Jean-Louis based on current best knowledge
    • Tentative integration for the fire detection system for ECN3/TCC8: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1140455/contributions/4785595/attachments/2409459/4122651/RFG-ECN3-ICEA17032022.pptx
    • HI-ECN3 to define air rejection constraints of LASD exhaust pipes based on FIRIA outcome (probably not constraint for experimental area, but for BDF target complex). Action/Rahul to follow up within FIRIA
    • Fire concept of service building is being finalized within FIRIA. Fire safety system space requirements to be clarified. Action/Claudia/Jean-Lousi to organize dedicated meeting
