The current configuration of the SRA positioning on a longer girder is not favourable for us. We will increase by 0.5 kW the power on the last SRA and, most importantly, we reduce the misalignment tolerance of the SRAs to 1 mm max 2 mm (see Gabriel study @ VTCM #29).
The plan B might be:
- add an SRA in the HV large aperture corrector (big implications for MSC that needs to do a rad hard magnet);
- move the SRA closer to the beam (impedance load and beam instabilities to account for)
- Assess whether the HV corrector is needed for all girders (since not all quads/sexts have the same length, see Patrick's feedback after optics meeting).
