Agenda
- Review of cases / synergies
- Review of structure / responsibilities
- Workshop / face to face meeting
- Actions
- Check contact list
- Add administrative contact
- Planning
- Other subjects to discuss
- AI Factories involvement ...
Quick recap
The use cases show an important technical inhomogeneity. Some work on the complete assessment of the cases is still needed in order to draw the complete picture and the story. A reduced team will get together to support Erik and Julian in order to draw a realistic assessment and the story that would link all the developments together.
Next steps
- Several meetings will be planned for next year to finalise the complete picture of the project and its structure.
- All participants to add their institute's EU officer or administrative contact to the contact list in the shared Excel file.
[AG]
to check availability of meeting rooms in Paris for the face-to-face meeting either for the 4th or the 8th of August.[CW]
and[MM]
confirmed the possibility to hold the face to face meeting either in Milano or in Liverpool.[AR]
to confirm that possibility for Geneva (CERN).- All participants to reach out to AI factories in their respective countries.
- Administrative documents to be shared shortly (will include some information for Part B)
[AG]
to clean a general presentation that can be distributed more broadly.
Summary
Review of cases / synergies
- Quick recap by
[JG]
. The cases are heterogeneous in maturity, targets, techniques, ... - A proposed picture of the logical story from accelerator to patient has been shown.
- The federated learning part does not appear as dominant in the cases that have been received but there are at least two cases for it.
- The MonteCarlo simulations can be a link between accelerator and patient.
- The case discussed between Erik and Carsten is not the 3D Xray case but a proton therapy case focusing on simulation, sensor response and beam transport.
- Some work is still needed to draw the big picture (story line), the global objectives and the methodology that will support it. We will accelerate this part next week.
Review of cases / synergies
The team discussed the structure and responsibilities of their work packages, with [AG]
outlining six packages. They agreed to form a small team to work on the three technical packages and planned to meet again next week to create a clearer picture. The group also discussed reaching out to AI factories in their respective countries and adding administrative contacts to the shared contact list. [AG] emphasized the need to move quickly on finalizing the project story and expressed concern about being behind schedule, particularly regarding feedback on work package content needed for part B.

Meeting Logistics and Industrial Partners
The team discussed organizing a face to face meeting on August 4th or 8th in either Paris, Liverpool, Milano or Geneva. [CW]

confirms meeting rooms availabilities in Liverpool (University of Liverpool) and Milano (Politecnico di Milano). [AR]
to confirms rooms availabilities at CERN. [AG]
to confirm availabilities in Paris. Plan A is to hold the meeting Paris. Details will be communicated next week.
The group reviewed industrial participation, noting interest from companies including HI Iberia (proposing blockchain for Federated Learning), Cozy Lab (mid-layers and interfaces), and Hopsworks (involved in feature store and data management). [AG]
emphasized the importance of having backup partners for critical tasks to mitigate risks, and mentioned that beneficiary companies must be European while associate companies can be non-European. [MM]
asked to communicate a small presentation of the project to partner companies. [AG]
to clean a short presentation that can be distributed more broadly.
