      Round table 1h 30m
      • David explained e-doc file access and e-meeting organization under the CERNbox link: https://cernbox.cern.ch/files/spaces/eos/user/h/hmuller/www/pdfs

        • Access requires registration to the WG5 email + acceptance, following reported incidents from AI bots.

        • Access to the old private Google Drive has now been withdrawn for about 50 partially unknown users. DRD1 members should switch to the new CERNbox database.

        • Hans showed how to edit the file "latest e-file index" with the CERNbox embedded Collabora editor for adding/updating subjects and links.

        • So far, Hans and David can edit; colleagues can be added on request.

      • Alex gave an in-person demo of the new MicroROC with VMM hybrid with SiPM adapter. The SiPM bias voltage settings were demonstrated via the latest Slow Controls GUI and confirmed via a voltmeter with mV precision.

        • A discussion was held about the power cable for the SiPM adapter, either from the hybrid or from a PBX: both are possible.

        • uROC users can use long HDMI cables up to 2.5 m, but this has to be tested when connecting in parallel with PBX power.

      • Hans presented 3D views of a rack-mountable 1U Schroff box with 1 or 2 MaxiROCs. The idea is to provide SRS users with a cheap and safe rack-mountable chassis for uROCs and MaxiROCs.

        • We will make one box as a template and propose the boxes with pre-made front panels to the CERN store. We also have an offer for 1000 pcs of HDMI cable clips (see 3D graphics), allowing the HDMI readout cables to be fixed individually.

      • Hans browsed through the slides of the new VNTC: a new versatile NIM-TTL signal combi box that can be used simply as a NIM-to-TTL converter box (for Timepix with NIM).

        • The VNTC has more functions, such as combinatorial AND/OR logic and a 40 MHz oscillator function. The latter allows gating of the 40.00 MHz output with a NIM input pulse.

        • Some VNTC applications:

          • 1 - Power down the frontend by gating/stopping the clock.

          • 2 - In combination with a GPA preamplifier, generate a coincidence trigger (NIM or TTL) from a particle crossing through detector planes.

      • Karl and David reported that setting up a GEM detector readout with VMMs in the GDD took them around 1 h, all inclusive.

        • The signal quality from the bottom of the GEM was monitored by one of the new GPA preamplifiers. This "plug-and-play" capability should also be established on the telescopes and requires a full understanding of which quality requirements and practices are needed and which allow unproblematic displacement of detectors into test beam areas without time-consuming tuning runs.

        • Discussion about a possible "fake beam campaign" where users bring their detectors and prepare them as well as possible in terms of noise and communication.

      • As for the CERN store stock, the numbers for the following items should be discussed with Alex: PBX + cables, MaxiROC, uROC.
