        Geant4's Development and Testing Workflows: History and Practices 1h 15m

        Geant4's long history means that the tools and methods used to manage its development, build, testing and release have gone through several major revisions. Here I give a historical overview of these revisions, and how these led to, and continue to influence, the current Git/GitLab/CMake/CTest system. A practical overview of the current Merge Request and reference tag workflows will be given, highlighting the technical and
        procedural aspects to illustrate why things are done the way they are as much as how to do them. We will finish by looking at the ongoing evolution taking place in both the infrastructure and methods to ensure this pipeline remains sustainable and enables effective and robust development of Geant4.
