    The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is an automated tracking and navigation safety system used on ships and by vessel traffic services,

    How a Raspberry Pi running OpenPlotter, Signal K and OpenCPN becomes a carry-on navigation kit: receive-only AIS with collision alarms, chart and route planning, anchor watch and GRIB weather, all set up in 30 minutes and packed away at the end of the week. Includes a demo of the kit and what i've learned along the way.
