Abstract: I discuss the worldsheet description of string theory on AdS3 with pure NS-NS flux. This model is solvable and has provided us with a wealth of information about perturbative string theory and the AdS/CFT correspondence. The worldsheet theory is built upon the SL(2,R) WZW model. After introducing this 2d CFT, I will showcase some recent applications.
