Description
This presentation will show CST MICROWAVE STUDIOTM a specialist tool for the fast and accurate simulation of high frequency problems on a PC in a Windows based environment. Applications include cavities, couplers, filters, planar structures, connectors, IC-packages, as well as all kinds of antennas. CST MWS offers two solvers: The Time Domain Solver and the Eigenmode Solver, as well as options for the import of specific CAD files.
CST MWS is the successor of the High-Frequency Modules of the MAFIA-software package, completely redesigned in the following points:
Performance: Excellent performance and accuracy due to the incorporation of Perfect Boundary ApproximationTM (PBA). PBA improves the geometry-approximation dramatically, resulting in very accurate prediction of resonance frequencies and Q-values.
Ease of use: Intuitive GUI makes CST MWS easy to learn and use.
Import options: Automatic import of CAD data (e.g. from AutoCAD, ProE,
CATIA, I-DEAS)
Optimisation: Optimum design through advanced optimiser. An Online-Demonstration of the software CST MICROWAVE STUDIOTM will be given, including interactive modelling and simulation of realistic applications.
Dr. Ulrich Becker obtained his Ph.D. in 1997 at Technical University of Darmstadt. At this time his main research field were the Particle-In-Cell-Simulations, which enables the realistic simulation of High-Power-Tubes such as klystrons. He designed major parts of the modules TS2 and TS3, both components of the MAFIA-software package. For more information about CST, please visit www.cst.de.
In the afternoon (1pm to 5 pm), there is the opportunity to discuss more specific questions as well as receiving an introductory training into the software.
