ANSYS 8.0 - Highlights

ANSYS is the main Structural Analysis Simulation package in use at CERN. The new version 8.0 of ANSYS brings several improvements in the multiphysics part (multi field solver for coupled field problems, direct coupled field elements, coupled fluid-solid interaction improvements), in the structural, thermal and electromagnetic analysis (new Lagrange Multiplier contact algorithms, contact wizard's capabilities, material curve fitting, component mode synthesis, BEAM188/ BEAM189 elements enhancement, film coefficient modelling enhancement, electromagnetic contact improvements and so on). ANSYS Workbench ("new ANSYS") and Design Modeler (new ANSYS modeller) have also received several improvements. Completely new is the FE-modeler for mesh work and the Hex dominant option.
CADFEM is an engineering company specialized in simulation software and distributor of ANSYS. CADFEM has 4 main activities, software sales (including consulting and support), training, analysis on demand and program development. CADFEM is the supplier to CERN of the FEM tools ANSYS, DesignSpace and ESAComp.
