This is an IoP Half Day meeting reviewing the past 10 years of progress and looking forward to the future of heavy flavor physics as influenced by the results of the BaBar experiment. The work of the B-factories, BaBar and Belle, was mentioned in the Nobel Prize for Physics announcement for 2008. Both BaBar and Belle were built to test the CKM theory of CP violation. Not only have they out done all expectations in this area, but they have performed hundreds of other interesting measurements using the enormous data sets that have been collected. During the coming decade we will see many final publications from BaBar, as well as the advent of Flavour Physics from the LHC, and in particular LHCb.
