The ATLAS physics program includes accurate measurements of Standard Model (SM) processes together with searches for new phenomena driven by theories suggesting extensions of the model. Such extensions are motivated by several unexplained experimental observations, like the presence of Dark Matter, and, at the same time, to correct some issues linked to the internal structure of the SM. In particular, the top sector plays a special role in many of these theories. This talk will cover an overview of ATLAS searches for top pair production in association with missing transverse momentum and how their results can be used to constrain SM extensions.
