Description
iThemba LABS is a multi-disciplinary research center in South Africa. It provides accelerator and ancillary facilities for: - Research and training in physical, biomedical and material sciences - Research in the treatment of cancer with energetic neutrons and protons - Development and production of radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals for use in nuclear medicine, research and industry In this presentation I will discuss the different ion sources, accelerators, beam lines, and diagnostics systems which are used to produce the high energy beams. Furthermore, a short introduction of experiments and applications will be presented.
