    • 15:55 16:05
      Network data challenges 10m
Speakers: Dr Riccardo Di Maria (CERN), Rizart Dona (CERN)

FTS Status Board prototype dashboard is now available here

      • Implemented
        • General Stats
        • Error Messages & Failures
        • Efficiency/Volume/Throughput matrices per experiment (ATLAS, CMS & LHCB)
      • Todo
        • Plots / Histograms that will show trends over time
        • More accurate throughput calculation
      • Traffic identified by "Data Challenge" activity label, all panels are filtered by it
      • Please provide feedback in the mattermost channel
      • Other documentation can be found in the Gitlab repo

the network challenge which we provisionally scheduled on the last week of September after consultation we are going to move it to the second week of October to avoid rucio DB upgrade and beam tests clashes before and after respectively: 10 - 16 October

      xrootd monitoring under discussion too.

    • 16:05 16:15
      Experiments production 10m
Speakers: Alessandra Forti (University of Manchester (GB)), Diego Davila Foyo (Univ. of California San Diego (US)), Petr Vokac (Czech Technical University (CZ))

      FTS / gfal2

      • recent gfal2 use client X.509 proxy certificate also for COPY request authorized with storage issued tokens DMC-1256
        • this is not necessary, because with token client can use simple HTTPS connection without providing X.509
        • this doesn't hurt (technically gfal2 could reuse connection used to get storage issued tokens), but it make a bit more difficult to understand specific errors
          • one of ATLAS storage forces client to always use X.509 proxy
          • transfers from this storage fails, because active HTTP-TPC party have only storage issued token
          • transfers to this storage succeeds, because of described behavior - COPY always sent through connection that use X.509 proxy

      Migration status

      • ATLAS 86% done missing 1 T1, 8 T2, 11 T3 sites
        • 3 testing new xrootd
        • 1 new EOS
        • 4 waiting for stable xrootd to be in production repositories
        • 1 Storm site to be upgraded soon
      • CMS 64% missing 19 T2 sites
        • 3 are ready for Production (not enabled yet)
        • 3 are having issues with their loadTests
        • 1 just passed the manual tests
        • 10 have an endpoint but haven't passed the manual tests
        • 2 don't have an endpoint yet
    • 16:15 16:25
      SRM+HTTP tape access 10m
Speakers: Alessandra Forti (University of Manchester (GB)), Petr Vokac (Czech Technical University in Prague (CZ))

      Tests being setup in ATLAS

UKI-NORTHGRID-MAN-HEP used as disk site with test RSE setup

INFN-T1 setup a separate tape pool too which we configured to use srm+https and fts-devel

Few teeething problems with the configuration but now we have ongoing functional tests. Labelled also with the Data Challenge activity we are going to use for the newtork challenges. Larger scale tests will be next.

Plan to test all T1s in the same way.

CMS and LHCb plans for this after the initial sites work for atlas need to be agreed.

Plan is to use SRM+https for tape challenges.
