14:00 → 14:10 EOSCTA Post-Migration Issues

DUNE

• See #293 Migrate DUNE from CASTOR to CTA
• Thanks to Julien, Steve, Vlado and Vova for your contributions to DUNE migratation!
• DUNE in production since 12 April.
• Tested EOSCTA → FNAL_DCACHE_TEST → EOSDISK → EOSCTA with 30 1Gfiles, 30 2Gfiles, 30 4Gfiles, 30 10Gfiles (FTS monitoring)
• No problems with recalls.
• Multihop writes mostly OK, 3 failures of 10G files with destination operation expired error.
• Reclaim NA62 tapes I70019 and L75667
• Data challenge 3Q2021. "We expect it will be several months before any significant data is again written to tape for either NP02 or NP04 and at most for either of them it will be cold box testing in calendar year 2021."

LHCb

• Everything working apart from RAL checksum problem.
• TO DO: DAQ integration and testing, including FTS Archive Monitoring
• Waiting for more details about the LHCb reprocessing campaign (begins in May).

NA62

• Issue with p without w permission was resolved (thanks Steve!)
• #295 Fix ACLs for NA62 on CTA PUBLIC. Issue is that NA62 want to prohibit their DAQ user from deleting files, but !d permission is not applied to the file owner. A possible solution is to change the file owner after a successful write. What would be the mechanism for this?
• #291 T2 transfers are working because the firewall was opened, but this is a temporary situation so we should put the hop-through-EOS solution in place.
• Any other outstanding issues?

• Migration of SMEs from CASTOR to CTA, see Putting EOSCTAPUBLIC into Production
• Schedule for migrating CASTOR PUBLIC experiments to CTA

Upcoming migrations: TOTEM and CLIC/ILC

• w/c Mon 19 April: TOTEM, see #277
• Post-migration: 0.5 PB of TOTEM files in EOS need a tape copy
• 1st week in June (provisional): CLIC/ILC (Dirac).

n_TOF

• #143 nTOF tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS , #161 Spinners space on EOSCTA PPS
• One blocking issue: recall to spinner space immediately after archiving
• Tue 20 April 14.00: meeting with n_TOF to agree migration schedule

COMPASS

• #69 COMPASS tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS
• No news at IT/SME meeting, but they will follow up by e-mail

AMS

• #82 AMS tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS
• Blocking issue is fixed, waiting for Baosong to proceed with tests.
• He says after these tests he can proceed with integration work on his side and prepare for the migration.
• On our side, 125 tapes to repack, but 118 of these overlap with the CLIC/ILC tapes.

NA61/SHINE

• NA61/SHINE: setting up their DAQ system + storage. No schedule for testing yet.
• Can we decouple their online and offline workflows, and migrate offline to CTA?

Backup

• #307 Migrate CASTOR Backup use cases to CTA
• Status of encryption for CASTOR backup use cases
• /afsmigration #282.

Other Use Cases

• UNOSAT data has been deleted
• r_public_misc: covers most of the rest of the small experiment use cases. Needs repacking to separate from r_public_user.
• LEP tapepools: postponed until more files have been repacked.

14:20 → 14:30 CTA PUBLIC New Use Cases

• Vlado's instructions have been published as KB0007266 Archiving data in the CERN Tape Archive (CTA)
• Any feedback on the instructions from the experiments?
