Description

Membrane cryostat technology is commonly used for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) ships and storage vessels. It it a robust, economical design with a proven service record. The Long Baseline Neutrino Experiment is proposing to use a membrane cryostat design for two 20 kton liquid argon (LAr) time projection chamber (TPC) neutrino detectors. The membrane technology and prototyping program will be described.
