The demand for high luminosity in the next generation of linear e+/e−colliders necessitates the consideration of interactions of a single lepton with several ones of the oncoming bunch. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to the general physics of such coherent processes as well as some of their most important implications for CLIC. The trident cascade process is one of coherent electron-positron pair creation, recently added to the beam-beam simulation program GUINEA-PIG++. Unlike the previously simulated coherent pairs, their creation is mediated by a virtual photon. In CLIC, the yield of this process is comparatively small, but a portion of the particles have got kinematical properties that makes it necessary to consider them in the design of the CLIC detector. I will compare results of recent simulations to those of other relevant processes, and describe the physics of the tridents.
