14:00 → 14:10 EOSCTA Post-Migration Issues

TOTEM

• Migration complete, summary report is on the ticket, see #277
• Post-migration: 0.5 PB of TOTEM files in EOS need a tape copy #334 Migrate TOTEM files from EOS to CTA

NA62

• Protect DAQ user from deleting files written by DAQ. #295 Fix ACLs for NA62 on CTA PUBLIC, #297 Testing of p and !d eos permissions, #304 Testing of !d ACL.
• #291 T2 transfers are working because the firewall was opened, but this is a temporary situation. Any WLCG site wishing to access CTA must be on LHCONE.
• NA62 have asked for a one-week extension of the firewall opening: "We are starting to write to EOS (and asynchronously move the files to CTA). However, would it be possible to give us a one-week extension just so that the existing production rounds finish as they are (and we don't have their output split between EOS and CTA)?"

ATLAS/ALICE

• Repack of r_public_user has finished extracting atlas_user and alice_user files to separate tapes. These can now be imported into the respective instances.

LHCb

• DAQ hardware delayed, expected in the summer, september at the latest.
• #306 DAQ integration and testing, including FTS Archive Monitoring
• LHCb reprocessing campaign (begins in May)

14:10 → 14:20 CTA PUBLIC Migration from CASTOR

• Migration of SMEs from CASTOR to CTA, see Putting EOSCTAPUBLIC into Production
• Schedule for migrating CASTOR PUBLIC experiments to CTA

n_TOF

• #143 nTOF tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS , #161 Spinners space on EOSCTA PPS
• Agreed a solution to the "recall to spinner space immediately after archiving" problem which everyone seems happy with.
• Steve has made the necessary change to EOS code, to not evict from spinner space after archival. Elvin will do a release on Thursday.
• Deploy new EOS and start testing with n_TOF next week (w/c 3 May)

CLIC/ILC

• #310 CLIC/ILC tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS
• Testing status update
• Migration 1st week in June (provisional). Review w/c 10 May.

COMPASS

• #69 COMPASS tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS
• COMPASS snaphot imported to eosctapps
• Testing status update
• Repack of COMPASS tapes complete, some files still in /user part of namespace

AMS

• #82 AMS tests on EOSCTAPUBLIC PPS
• Status update
• Baosang says after tests he can proceed with integration work on his side and prepare for the migration.
• AMS tapes have been repacked.

NA61/SHINE

• NA61/SHINE: setting up their DAQ system + storage. No schedule for testing yet.
• Decouple online and offline workflows, migrate offline to CTA.
• Start offline testing.

Backup

• #307 Migrate CASTOR Backup use cases to CTA
• #980 cta-taped can not handle missing encryption key correctly
• Status of encryption for CASTOR backup use cases
• /afsmigration #282.

Other Use Cases

• r_public_misc: covers most of the rest of the small experiment use cases. Needs repacking to separate from r_public_user.
• LEP tapepools: postponed until more files have been repacked.

• #312 Postgres performance tests. Upgraded to PostgreSQL 12.5.
