"Anti-Harassment Framework and Support Structures" by Louise Carvalho

The Lecture:

Are you curious about the Anti-Harrassment Framework at CERN? How much do you know about the CERN's Response Channel? What are the examples of behavior that should not be tolerate?

The Speaker:

Louise is born in Liverpool and raised on Vancouver Island, Canada. She is of Anglo-Irish-Indian descent, has 2 passports, speaks 4 languages, and has lived in 6 countries.

A lawyer by profession, Louise has practiced in Canada, in England, and for 10 years "in the field" as a Legal Adviser for the United Nations and European Union institutions in post-conflict Kosovo. After some years as a Legal Adviser at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (Nobel Peace Prize 2013) in The Hague, Louise joined CERN in October 2014 as a Legal Adviser. She was also appointed Diversity & Inclusion Programme Leader in 2018 and divides her time between the Legal and D&I functions.

While enjoying the frequent synergy between the two functions, Louise continues to learn about and champion the business case for diversity and the absolute necessity for the workplace to be inclusive of everyone's visible and invisible characteristics.
