Final video display on CDS of media produced at CERN webcast/videoconference rooms is a complex process that starts with planning of an event, its execution, its recording on a network share, cropping of the files, adding branding in the form of an intro/outro, creating sub-formats and smil files for HLS playing, slides, transcripts (coming), translations (coming), validating e-agreements of speakers, setting ACL for access and publish fine end results to CDS and Indico.
This talks presents the challenge to replace such a complex workflow by Opensource tools and new IT infrastructure having in mind to improve user experience, management, future extensions and support.
