Description

Topic: Discuss WLCG storage systems and network packet marking
Time: May 6, 2021 11:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

We need to meet to discuss the current draft of the packet marking technical specification.

We would start the meeting with an overview of the specification and then discuss how various WLCG storage systems/applications might enable the ability to mark packets based upon science domain and use-case. We would like to see some level of packet marking in place for the upcoming WLCG Data Challenge in the last week of September.

Reference docs/presentations are attached.

Discussion about How to Implement Packet Marking in WLCG Storage and File Transfer systems 30m

We need to discuss how to implement packet marking for WLCG storage and transfer systems. What options are best? What timescales are possible? Could we have something partially in place for the WLCG data challenge at the end of September?
