BC planning update (Kevin Li)
Scrubbing status (Lotta Mether)
- Scrubbing with 4 batches at FB during the night; scrubbing slowing down and machine quite well scrubbed; temperature limit of MKPs reached;
- Ramps on HiRadMat cycle done with 1 batch;
- Thursday first night scrubbing along the ramp;
- Friday starting to ramp up number of batches on ramp - main limitation was pressure in MKDV, in particular when dumping the beam at higher energies; very slow moving up the ramp and conditioning in parallel;
- Sunday got to 4 batches before kicker fault;no more ramp until Monday
- Monday some scrubbing with radial steering - nice conditioning observed;
RF status update (Philippe Baudrenghien, Kevin Li)
800 MHz phasing and stability (Ivan Karpov, Giulia Papotti)
- Phasing down using tilt method - taking mid-points from line density and comparing
- First scans done after LS2 focusing on speed rather than precision, doing less averaging over several acquisitions; rough phasing in is done
- Phase scans done for cavity 1 and 2 - scanning all 2*pi range along flat bottom; can see different bunch length modes on ABWLM acquisition;
- Reference measurements taken with RF off;
- For next time finish debugging scripts; ABWLM upgrade needed (last piece of fiber to be finalized);
- LSA integration not yet fully completed;
- Length of a phasing campaign should be about 1 hour per cavity; main improvement is scanning phase on long flat bottom;
- Behavior of tilt as we scan phase - why do we have an angle on the measured profile? G: Probably because we have some additional components sent to the HW from the settings;
- Alex: would be interesting to seem from simulation what is the relative amplitude between 200 and 800; we can have less effective voltage from the higher harmonic than expected, this was observed already in the past;
- Heiko: how sure can you be that when everything is adjusted at flat bottom it also works out along the ramp? Giulia: we have a setting that can be adjusted to take into account the frequency shifts also along the ramp; moreover one can do a faster phase scan to sample points along the cycle;
- Hannes: where do we stand with voltage that we can get for 800? Not beyond 800 kV without beam loading - the ultimate max is at 1 MV; Hannes: is this clamped at the moment? Giulia: not sure if we have a switch and limit programmed at the moment;
Status of RF conditioning (Eric Montesinos, Gino Cipolla)
- Conditioning cycles regularly taken; unfortunately, cavity has no memory; conditioning needs to be redone but takes just about 20 minutes;
- Next step is to implement an automatic RF switch to put conditioning when there is no beam during every cycle;
- Maximum at the moment? 500 kW for Philips and Siemens and more for Thales? Hannes: any visible improvement on the maximum attainable over last 2 month;
Ripples measurements (Hannes Bartosik)
