Description

Overview of theoretical molecular spectroscopy

This lecture series aims to provide a quick overview of the underlying theoretical concepts of molecular spectroscopy. It is planned to discuss the Born-Oppenheimer picture/cartoon and resulting consequences, term values and effective Hamiltonians, symmetries and selection rules, coupling schemes in diatomic molecules and various aspects of rotational, vibrational and electronic spectroscopy as well as their prediction by quantum chemical approaches.
