LISA Specialized Training 2: Advanced Techniques for the Production and Study of Actinides

Europe/Zurich
Description

LISA is a European Commission funded MSCA Innovative Training Network on radioactive ion beam research and applications, laser spectroscopy, scientific laser technologies and atomic theory.

This week will provide the Early Stage Researchers with an introduction to some of the modern ion manipulation and laser spectroscopic techniques used in radioactive ion beam research, which are also applicable to fundamental nuclear structure research on the actinides. In addition to lectures, practical activities are arranged within the Accelerator Laboratory, giving hands-on access to ion trapping techniques, laser spectroscopy, materials-based analysis methods and electromagnetic recoil separators. Additional skills in relation to analysis methods using Python-based programming as well as soft skills will be offered.

Participation is compulsory to LISA ESRs. Lectures are open to all.

This event is organized by the University of Jyväskylä in collaboration with the LISA Training Office.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 861198.
