      GUIDED VISITS PROGRAM 2h

      Dedicated visit circuits are organized in the afternoon inside bldg 157 and 251.
      Please fill in the Registration form to subscribe to one or more events.

      Needed:
      * Helmet
      * Covid Certificate or negative test
      * Closed shoes
      * Personal Dosimeter
      * Proximeter
      * Mask

      • T09-10 Area and T09 Experimental Area 15m

        Visit a part of the T09 and T10 new beamlines with the possibility to observe the new magnets, beam instrumentation, vacuum chambers. Visit also an experimental area with the setup of the users coming from all over the world to test their experiments.

      • CLOUD 15m

        Visit the renovated T11 experimental area hosting the CLOUD experiment that uses a special cloud chamber to study the possible link between galactic cosmic rays and formation of atmospheric aerosols and clouds.

      • POWER CONVERTER INSTALLATION (Bldg 251) 15m

        Visit the installation of the new generation of power converters (Sirius) powering the magnets of the East Area lines. The converters contribute to the energy saving by recovering the magnetic energy between beam extractions as opposed to a continuous powering of the magnets before LS2.

      • GAS INSTALLATIONS 15m

        Visit the new gas installations of the new East Area supplying 4 different gases to the beamline components.

      • MIXED AREA, IRRAD and CHARM (Controlled Areas) 15m

        A private visit for the Controlled areas of bldg. 157 could be organized if justified by a technical motivation. Please if you are interested to visit one of the controlled areas specify it in the registration form (please indicate the area of interest and the reason).

      PRESENTATION 1h

      At the end of the guided tours, the main challenges of this renovation project as well as the results obtained will be presented inside Bldg 157.
