Meeting : STAARQ Magnetic shaft design and procurement status – 08 dec 2021 ( Video )
Participants : Carlo Petrone, Gilles Villinger, Carlos Solano Eizaguirre, Antti Kolehmainen, Arnaud Foussat Frederic Savary
Agenda
- Status of detail design of MM shafts, procurement, commissioning plan, open items (Carlo)
- Integration and interfaces in AC status, MM assembly drawings / Assembly drawings status of MM into AC ( Gilles)
- Assembly steps of MM shafts, tooling status, open items ( Carlos)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1- Status of detail design of MM shafts, procurement, commissioning plan, open items (C.Petrone)
- C Petrone confirmed that the Six sets of PCB segments are in procurement to perform the simultaneous magnetic measurement in the two MQ bores. Once delivered some calibration work will be organised in B311 in a reference dipole.
- The segments interconnection design is complete meeting requirements to accommodate alignment angles and keep stiffness of system;
- The electronic control racks for those two shafts are already at CEA Saclay with the two MRU motor units.
- The final assembly should take place from April 2022 in a final existing table in SM18. Adaptation on table and handling during insertion to be discussed later with CMI assembly team. Some standard commissioning tests are foreseen which include continuity and polarity checks.
2- Integration and interfaces in AC status, MM assembly drawings / Assembly drawings status of MM into AC ( Gilles Villinger)
- The component drawings of shafts are ready and are approved internally by TF
- The assembly drawing of the shaft shall be reviewed and assembled by the Staarq AC+ MM integration team then forwarded to CEA for their approval.
- The transfer of the open EN job on the AC+MM system assembly drawing will be discussed with Robin Bontemps from Gilles possibly to Antti who is studying the anticryostat design and integration
- As open point, the last request by CEA to shift the end of the AC wrt magnet end by 200 mm should be justified and confirmed in order to complete anticryostat + MM shaft assembly drawing. C Petrone will follow up on this CEA request to check if this demand is still valid. The position of the shaft into the anticryostat will then be decided and fixed in the assembly drawing.
3- Assembly steps of MM shafts, tooling status, open items ( Carlos Solano Eizaguirre)
- It was confirmed that the anticryostat CAD model once complete at CERN with latest small chnages will be issued to CEA for their integration check and approval. The manufacture drawings of AC will be then be completed for internal approval.
- No design changes are expected in the radial direction of anticryostats.
- It was discussed that the follow up on the final design of assembly and transport jig will be addressed beginning 2022 to be procured and commission for the start of assembly steps planned from May 2022.
