Description
The aim of this pre-Workshop meeting is to discuss the status of
1a) Plan of the activity (topics to be studied) regarding both Higgs signals and SM backgrounds, differential K-factor, overview of background determination methods (data-driven, non-data driven, where we need theory input, please quote references to previous experimental studies, if possible) and (more difficult) the theoretical precisions that we need to have in the control regions and in the signal region;
1b) List of LO/NLO Monte Carlo's so far used;
1c) Wish List for theorists, like, for instance, NNLO calculations vs NLO-MC differential distributions as a function of most important variables.
2) Overview of the common selection cuts among ATLAS and CMS, underlying the difficulties in defining quantities at the parton level that best match experimentally reconstructed quantities(definitions of hadronic jets, tau jets, missing energy, other variables...)
We would highly appreciate if the contacts for each final state subgroup could report on the status of 1) and 2), pointing out what has been achieved up to this point in the definitions of 1) and 2) and what are the eventual problems that are holding you from completing these tasks. Theorists will also be invited to take part in this meeting
