Meeting Summary:

The meeting was long (more than 2 hours) and many things were discussed. This is a short summary of the discussions concerning the main topic of the meeting which was "collaboration between the C.E Group and other ASFAP Engagement Groups". A video recording of the meeting is available through the link above for those who want to know more bout the discussions.

The meeting started with Fairouz from the Steering Committee reminding us that community engagement or Physics outreach is not the mission of the C.E Group only; Physics Engagement should be incorporated in the activities of all the WGs. Ketevi and Farida, from the Steering Committee, also emphasized that Physics Outreach & Education concern communicating Physics to the community; all the ASFAP Engagement groups should find a way to work together as many of their topics are related.

There were long discussions concerning the scope of the C.E Group and the scope of other ASFAP Engagement groups (Physics Education group; Young Physicists Forum; Women in Physics Forum). The details of these discussions can be found in the meeting recording. From these discussions, it was agreed that there are topics that all the engagement groups can collaborate on and there are other topics each group can work on alone; thus, these groups must find a way to communicate between themselves.

It was proposed that all the engagement groups should meet twice a month (bi-monthly) and choose one topic to discuss and work on. The proposition was accepted; the representative of the engagement groups will communicate between themselves and plan the meetings.

The C.E Group presented a list of topics the group plans to work on; the meeting participants commented on the different topics. All the topics will be discussed during the bi-monthly meetings with other engagement groups.

Concerning the preparation of the ACP in March 2022, it was proposed that all the Engagement Groups meet and discuss their contribution. Marie Clementine, representing the C.E Group was asked to plan a meeting and send the invite to the representatives of other ASFP Engagement groups.
