Abstract:

Please note that the we kindly ask you when connecting to this seminar to mute your microphones and cameras in order to have a good connection.

In SM18, we test at a cryogenic temperature a large number of standalone magnets, cryostated magnets, diodes, and other electrical components per year. To keep track of the status of the diverse ongoing tests, Carpenter was born, and it is used daily since 2018. Over the years, we greatly expanded Carpenter’s functionality, and today it is a large and robust software tool, using state-of-the-art IT technology and CERN services, where we store historical magnet (and other devices) test information, and from where we can retrieve and display filtered test data and metadata.

In this presentation, I will present a brief history of Carpenter and how it works, and I will focus on the stored data and the current mechanisms to format and extract it.
