Minute 41

Plug-in:

  • Make or buy plan finished
  • Technical specification approved
  • Asset creation
  • Delays are tight, lot of refusing because of the delays and quantities

Mechanical table assembly:

  • Assembly procedure is almost finished
  • Cycling test will begin soon on 1 TCLPX and on 1 TCTPXH

TCC:

  • Christophe (CEM) will update the software to be easier to understand/ have values
  • Malik will work on it on the hardware part and for a potential chiller bath

Design:

  • Washer to protect bellows during FE welding to design
  • Update the TCTXPV plug-ins
  • Models for simulation ready, simulation needs to be discussed
  • Jaw lifting tool to design
  • Jaw and tank procedure
  • Braze fitting leak test tool

Absorber materials update:

  • 3 CuCD blocks with dry machining good after a 650°C thermal treatment (factor 3 better and factor 10 from total outgassing) but again hydrogen problems. A test in a bigger testbench can be done to have more hydrogen. Polishing expensive so the supplier asked to CERN to confirm the first blocks before sending them in polishing. We can now say that it will be some delays because of the potential porosity: estimated to 8 weeks!
  • Inermet to be sent to metrology – No updates last time

Production:

  • First jaws copper part flatness measurement = 42um and second one = 70um, others ongoing
  • Welded bellows metrology finished: 9.5mm for the shoulder. FE welding ongoing
  • 15 days for RF screens
  • Parts 0024 next week for 3D metrology
  • Cooling pipes in ultrasound control, waiting for the report. Mini. Thickness of the tubes=0.60mm
  • Tank extremities ongoing
  • CuBe folding finished, then welding
  • 350 cleaned parts to be received finally next week

Additional screws:

  • Rodriguez declined it because of the pitch
  • Moog answer the requirements -> visit to come
  • Ewellix answer the requirements, we can visit the factory – Delays = 39 weeks, check the feasibility
  • SKF, Umbra, Bosch not possible
  • Schaeffler answer the requirements, materials to defined -> very good delays/ costs
  • Meeting with S. Sgobba for the materials alloy and corrosion restiance

Graphite tapering:

  • Asked to Pablo to order 2 blocks – 2 more block only if metrology is good on the first 2 ones.
  • 2 first blocks in metrology
  • RGA to be discussed with Gregory
  • If the test rom BI are good we keep and assemble graphite on the proto

Update on planning:

  • Adding 8 weeks for the blocks

Update for the serie:

  • Possibility to ask to the welded bellows supplier to machine and weld the shafts on the bellows

Others:

  • Waiting for the first and last RGA tests final reports
  • Tools for flatness measurement: check the compatibility (point 4 or 132)

EDMS:

  • 2172391 for the collimator assembly procedure
  • 2718080 labelling for the proto/ serie
  • 2702554 collimator plates production
  • 2664160 collimator production
  • 2355344 NCR TCPPM bellows
  • 2733845 metrology EWB bellows
