The announcement of the Higgs boson observation on July 4, 2012 in a dedicated seminar at CERN marked the conclusion of a five decades long saga, and the beginning of a new era of detailed measurements and characterisation of the scalar sector.

With the opportunity of the 10 year anniversary of the Higgs boson observation,  we organising an event aiming to reflect on the challenges of the discovery and subsequent measurements of the Higgs boson, and to discuss the future.

The Thursday June 30 at 5pm BST colloquium by Prof. Sir Christopher Llewellyn Smith FRS (CERN Director General 1994-1998) on the events that led to the discovery of the Higgs boson, will be broadcast live. Register here for the webinar: http://cern.ch/go/C9nr

The organizers would like to acknowledge the support of the Particle Physics group at the University of Birmingham and the Particle Physics group at the University of Sheffield, the European Research Council (ExclusiveHiggs-714893), the  Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology at the University of Durham, and the High Energy Particle Physics and History of Physics Groups of the Institute of Physics.
