Meeting Summary:
The objective of the meeting was to prepare and organise the ASFAP Engagement groups session on the 7th of March at the ACP Conference. Ketevi gave suggestions from the Steering Committee on the main points each engagement group should focus on in their contribution. These points are:
- A short report on surveys results
- Summaries of workshops, meetings & discussions
- A short report on LOIs
- A Brief report of the group progress
It was agreed that each group will put together a short report on the above 4 points and choose a representative/ speaker who will present the report at the March Conference. Each group will be allocated 10 - 15 min to present their reports. The different Engagement groups will present their contributions in the following order:
- Physics Education
- Community Engagement
- Young Physicists Forum
- Women in Physics Forum
After the presentations of all the contributions, there will be a question and discussion session (30 min) on the presented contributions. Marie Clémentine Nibamureke and Bertrand Tchanche Fankam will chair the session; Mounia Laassiri will write a report on the session.
It was agreed that each group will send their contribution materials (PDF document or PPT presentation) and the name of their speaker to Mounia Laassiri (mounia.laassiri@gmail.com). Mounia will finalise the session details (speaker names; contributions titles and time allocation) on the conference agenda. It would be better if this is done as soon as possible.
At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the different engagement groups agreed to meet (10 minutes) on the 6th of March to make sure that everything is in order for the session on the 7th of March.
