Tape Challenge '22

• Target dates confirmed

  • second week of March (7th~11th) : A-DT test for CMS

  • third week of March (14th~18th) : DT test for ATLAS/CMS/LHCb

  • fourth week of March (21st~25th): A-DT test for ATLAS/LHCb

• ATLAS plan : more details available in google doc. 

  • The A-DT week is basically business as normal, because we will be riding along with the production tape read and tape write activities, which will be able to provide enough load to match the Run3 expectations. 

  • Data written to T1 tape during DT should be cleaned up later on. Will define special scope names for the test data, so sites can configure tape/file families 

• CMS plan :  More details available in google doc

  • replay mechanism to copy data from T0 disk to tape at T0/T1s

  • srm+https will be used.

• Monitoring

  • check with CERN storage group on available monitoring for CERN EOS/CTA, to be added to the google doc and better if possible to add as new data source to central dashboard

• All VOs please continue to update the ggdoc as more details become available, eg. start/end time of each type of test etc...  for better coordination of VO tests
