Progress of the R&D campaign on Nb/Cu 1.3 GHz cavities at CERN 15m

The first Nb/Cu SRF cavities were produced at CERN in the 1980s. This technology offers several advantages with respect to the bulk Nb cavities. However, a degradation in the performance with increasing accelerating fields (Q-slope) was observed systematically, which limited the application of Nb/Cu cavities to low gradient accelerators. Since then, the SRF community has put efforts to understand and mitigate this phenomena. In this presentation we are going to describe the recent progress of the R&D campaign carried out at CERN, and give an overview of the latest results of Nb/Cu 1.3 GHz cavities with seamless substrates, which are a proof that the Q-slope is not intrinsic to this technology, but it can be overcome.
