Description
Simulation of ground motion at ATF2, Wake fields in the booster linac
Participants: F. Antoniou, B. Dalena, S. Doebert, A. Latina, R. Lillestoll, C. Maidana, A. Oeftiger, J. Pfingstner, Y. Renier, D. Schulte, G. Sterbini, F. Stulle, F. Tecker, R. Tomas, A. Vivoli, Y.W. Wang

Y.R. discussed how ground motion measurement can be used for orbit correction at ATF2. From simulations he deduced that 20-30 ground motion sensors would be required for proper correction. Further simulations are required to estimate the impact of imperfections. A discussion followed on the performance of geophones.

F.S. showed preliminary simulation results of the 2GHz booster linac including long range wake fields. They seem to have a strong impact on the beam. D.S. and S.D. proposed not to average but to interpolate the available HOM data, which was calculated only for the first, the middle and the last cell.
