The organizing committee welcome you to Geneva, Switzerland, for the International Technical Safety Forum 2022 (ITSF 2022).

The ITSF is a forum for exchanging state of the art ideas, processes, procedures and technologies in personnel, environmental and equipment safety from a variety of high-energy physics and synchrotron radiation laboratories around the world.  

The ITSF 2022 will be hosted by CERN in October 2022 ( https://home.web.cern.ch/ ). Participants may attend either in person or online.  

Dates: October 24th (Mon.) to 28th (Fri.) 2022 
Venue: The Globe of Science and Innovation, Square Galileo Galilei, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland 
(30min from Geneva Airport by public transportation) 

Welcome and admininstrative registration of the participants on Monday 24th afternoon in the Globe.

The following topics will be presented:  

• Incidents and lessons learned
• Equipment certification
• Risk assessment
• Continuous improvement in HSE matters
• New projects and challenges
• Environmental protection and sustainability
• Communications
• Incident/accident management
• Technical risks
• Safety culture and behaviour
• Fire safety
• Safety training
• Safety for complex shared research center

Last update: the fire workshop initially scheduled for Monday 24th afternoon will be integrated into the programme (on Wednesday 26th October). Speakers will have the opportunity to expose their ongoing projects related to fire safety in particle accelerator facilities. This is meant to be an interactive session where the objective is for the participants to give each other feedback and advice. The speakers will present their current projects and challenges (see the dedicated tab).

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 May 2022. Please send them to: ITSF2022-committee@cern.ch.

The deadline for the registration to the conference is 4 September 2022.
