The CMS Young Scientists Committee (CMS YSC) offer free, in-person walking tours of the CERN Meyrin site. These are aimed at CMS newcomers but are open to all CMS members.

These do not cover the areas currently offered by the CERN visits service but instead focus on areas commonly needed by CERN personnel on a day-to-day basis (e.g. showing where the secretariat’s office is, the CERN library, where to print posters on site, etc...). The tours also cover areas that might be needed less frequently (e.g. the medical service).

This is to help newcomers to find their way around the CERN sites. Guides for these tours are members of the YSC and they give helpful facts along the way (e.g. where can free stationary be obtained from? What is the procedure for getting a CERN bike or car? etc...).

As the route for the Prévessin site is currently being finalised, we are currently offering tours of the Meyrin site only. If you would like to join a tour of the Meyrin site this month, please register here. New Indico pages will be created and circulated for tours taking place in future months.

Shortly afterwards you will receive an email containing a When2Meet link to schedule the date and starting time of the tour, which should last a maximum of 1 hour.

Please do not hesitate to contact the coordinator of the tours and Deputy Chair of the YSC Kathryn Coldham (kathryn.coldham@cern.ch), if you have any questions.
