Abstract: The Mu3e experiment at the Paul Scherrer Institute will search for the charged lepton flavor violating decay mu+ -> e+ e- e+. In a first phase until 2027, Mu3e aims at a sensitivity level of around BF(mu+ ->e+ e- e+) < 2e-15. To achieve this goal, a state-of-the-art detector has been designed and construction is starting. I will describe the physics motivation and detector plans of Mu3e and discuss the recent integration efforts.
