      Release 4.7.3-1

      • Milestones link
      • Deployed in pre-production
      • Deployed in production on 02 Jun 2022
      • Stress tests failed, but same errors could be seen on old releases. No regression found. (#1225)

      Release 4.7.4-1

      Future releases (4.7.x)

      Catalogue v10.1

      Release 4.7.x

      TBD

      Public Release

      • New label: Public Release - Check remaining tasks
      • Move subdirectories from CTA dev repo into new repos (#1182) (optional, but good to have)
      • Nightly runs status.
      • Cern Oracle Instant Client dependency.

      - As noted by Miguel, it is important to find out why the stress tests keep failing. This task has been assigned to David.

      - Version 4.7.4 has been released and deployed to PPS. This was necessary for Miguel to be able to test his changes to verification. Miguel will work on other issues related to verification, which he expects to release on version 4.7.5.

      - Michael offered to create a ticket (#1246) about the removal of the Cern Oracle Instant Client dependency. This dependency should not be necessary for external users, mainly if they use PostgreSQL catalogue.

    • 15:30 15:40
      New SchedulerDB Implementation 10m
      • #1229 Introduce build of a new taped, using new type of SchedulerDatabase
    • 15:40 15:50
CTA read support for non-native tape formats (OSM/dCache and Enstore) 10m
      • #1239 Add support to CTA for multiple tape label formats
      • See also discussion on MR!187.

      - A developer from CTA team will work on refactoring the CTA/tapeserver/castor/tape/tapeserver/file/File.cpp file, as proposed in the issue #1239.

      - After that we will be able to split the sub-class implementations between the CTA and dCache teams.

      - NOTE: We agreed to have someone of dCache team (Jacek) as reviewer on any new merge request related to this topic.

    • 15:50 16:00
      cta-frontend-grpc integration for CTA 10m
      • Proposed roadmap: #1236 Integrate cta-frontend-grpc into CTA repo and RPMs
      • #1240 CTA Frontend protobuf changes to support dCache
      • Original issue: #1222 cta-frontend-grpc integration for dCache
      • See also discussion on Merge Request !202

      - We decided we don't need to use Linux *alternatives*. We either setup one version of the frontend or the other.

      - A new RPM will be used for the gRPC frontend.

      - Michael will write a draft for the protobuf definition used by dCache gRPC and pass it for review.

      - We agreed that dCache would do small pull requests instead of a big one.

      - Request by Tigran: Remove all *.cern.ch references from the CI, so that the CI configuration can be easily ported outside of cern. According to Julien, these references are only needed for Docker registry and token management.

    • 16:00 16:10
      New CTA features 10m
      • Allow VO override for repack (#1210)
      • Command to put down a disk instance (#1219)
      • Move Repack workflow tracking to CTA (#Ops-763)

      - Miguel will check what needs to be done to *allow VO override for repack*, since he already implemented a MountPolicy override for tape verification.
