Description

Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC) Project has started with support of State Planning Organization (SPO) of Turkey under coordination of Ankara University. After completing Feasibility Report (FR, 2000) and Conceptual Design Repot (CDR, 2005), third phase of project is started in 2006 as an inter-universities project with support of SPO. Third phase of project has two main scientific goals: to write Technical Design Report (TDR) of TAC and to establish an Infrared Free Electron Laser (IR FEL) facility as a first step. It is planned that the first facility will be completede in 2013 and will be based on 15-40 MeV superconducting electron linac. In this talk, main aims, national and regional importance, main parts and main parameters, status and road map of Turksih Accelerator Center will be presented.
