Yongke's comments on the emittance (So far, the emittances are not yet considered in optimisation):

  • The X- and Y- normalized emittances for all particles at 200 MeV:
    • R=20 mm L-band @ 0.5 T: ~10 mm*rad
    • R=30 mm L-band @ 0.3 T: ~20 (23) mm*rad
    • R=20 mm S-band @ 1.5 T: ~75 (78) mm*rad
    • R=30 mm L-band @ 1.5 T: ~126 (120) mm*rad
  • But if we look at the particles that are still at 200 MeV but only finally selected in the E&Time window at DR entrance, the emittances will be much smaller:
    • R=20 mm L-band @ 0.5 T: ~7.5 mm*rad
    • R=30 mm L-band @ 0.3 T: ~9.5 mm*rad
    • R=20 mm S-band @ 1.5 T: ~12.5 mm*rad
    • R=30 mm L-band @ 1.5 T: ~15.5 mm*rad

Notes from the meeting:

  • The DR design made by Salim was a preliminary design and no optimisation of positron acceptance was done. This point should be reviewed. Most like the dynamic aperture can be better optimized.
