Progress in CERN (Luke Rose)
- UTS is in clean area in CERN / setted with a readout of ALIDES, which are installed
- 6 are inside UTS
- PCB close to power, which cause the problems with connection (5 of 6 running/responding)
* before all 6 has connection
* damage of cable or loose connection
* MOSAIC is fine
* very unlikely that it's detector is dead
- we should be careful when unmounting
- cable is under strong tension
* spare long ALICE cables don't have proper connector
* Maxime will check does they have spare in Torino
* May be something mechanically can be done to make connection pushed
* Luck will try to push and see if it loose
- further DAQ test remotely
- Maxim will come next week and will try to change PCB and cables
- someone from GSI can come 3-4 days before 19th (if funding will allow)
- transport from clean area (Stefano)
* ourself or crain people
* should not be a problems
SciFi's (Jan Friedrich, Karl Eichhorn):
- Still quite tight in TUM
- We rather scale down in terms of channels
- 19th to 26th we will try to have something (from the detector point of view)
- Fiber machining with diamond sharpened blade:
* first samples came yesterday
* now is checking cut quality / news tomorrow
Thomas Poeschl: where to put electronics?
Oleg Kiselev: There will be a rack for ALPIDE VME crate, you can use it upper to ALPIDE.
Thomas: ECAL0 rack was a plan
Stefano: There will be pass-by safety inspection from CERN.
Christian will take a care about it.
Christian: Special beam condition (rate, optics)
Jan: 100 GeV muons, 2*10^6, focus nea UTS?
Christian:
* more less same as for pilot run
* will be discussed with beam people
Oleg Kiselev:
* propose to go from lower intensity (known that ALPIDEs live with it) and make several steps to increase
Christian will report next week about it.
TPC windows (Oleg Kiselev):
* vacuum test is done with leakage testing device
* using existing flange
* from one direction only (other no possible)
* no leak of helium at all
* even no Al protection / everything is work
* engineer propose don't put Aluminum since no leakage observed with carbon only
* outgassing test foreseen
* long pressure test is also foreseen
- 100kV feedthrough flange design for pressure test is now under development
